ORGANISED CHAOS

PULUKASA – A Space for Art, Thought, and Encounters

Located in the business village of Jääli, Oulu, PULUKASA is a 250 m² creative workspace with a ceiling height of 6.8 meters. It is designed especially for circus professionals, performing artists, dancers, and thinkers – for anyone in search of space to explore, rehearse, create, and connect. At the heart of PULUKASA are the values of freedom, openness, and boundary-pushing creativity.

The space is equipped with rigging points for a range of ground-based apparatuses (e.g., tightwires and ropes), and aerial rigging will soon be added to further support aerial arts.

PULUKASA Space and Village Tour – Where Art Meets the Countryside

PULUKASA is part of TAIDE MATKA (Art Journey), a project by Lumo Company that aims to energize cultural life in rural and peri-urban areas of Oulu. Supported by the European Union Agricultural Fund through Oulun region LEADER, the project has two core strands:

  1. A rehearsal space for independent artists – A versatile environment for artistic work, professional growth, and creative community-building.

A village tour – A series of contemporary circus performances touring 48 villages across Northern Finland, in collaboration with Suomen Kylät ry (Finnish Villages Association). The tour features three unique shows and a total of 48 performances, bringing art directly to rural audiences and offering workshops, participation opportunities, and shared cultural experiences.

More than a Venue – A Platform for Possibility

PULUKASA is more than just a space – it's a residency hub, a rehearsal room, and a meeting point for interdisciplinary collaboration and fresh thinking. We invite artists, ideas, and curiosity, and in return, we offer space, time, and opportunities.

Whether you're looking to work, perform, rehearse, or simply explore, we warmly welcome you to join us.
