ABOUT US
Lumo Company is a Finnish contemporary circus company founded in 2015. Since its inception, we have created 15 contemporary circus productions for theatre venues, outdoor spaces, and site-specific performances. Additionally, we have collaborated on three shows and customized performances for special occasions.
In 2015, we premiered Upside Down, directed by Anu Niemi, which toured Finnish schools and reached over 30,000 viewers. In 2016, we premiered Nuanc3d, a collaboration with Agit-Cirk, directed by Pirjo-Yli Maunula, followed by WireDo, directed by Taina Kopra. In 2018, we staged Wigsby, a tightwire show featuring six tightwire dancers, directed by Hanna Moisala, and Lola, an exploration of memory loss, directed by Taina Kopra.
In 2019, we presented Vagabond, an outdoor production that toured both rural Finland and abroad. Scream Before You Fall, directed by Sini Napari and Kanerva Keskinen, premiered in 2020. Nomad, directed by Hanna Moisala, premiered in 2021. In 2022, we presented AER, a collaboration with Flow Production, a unique performance for only 20 people at a time, and Indigo, an outdoor mechanical horse performance.
In 2023, we debuted Fineline, directed by Hanna Moisala and Anniina Peltovako. In 2024, we created Energy, a site-specific performance at a power plant in Kuusamo, and Loop, a collaboration with Agit-Cirk as part of the Live2 project. The Flow of Life is also set to premiere in 2024. Our upcoming 2025 production, Phloem, will blend food art and contemporary circus in a unique fusion.
